When it comes to cannabis, this attitude won't do you much good. In other words, if you take a puff from a vape on the Strip, you'll pay for it. It currently isn't in public.  These regulations can feel frustrating to people visiting the area. After all, as the law currently stands, you can only smoke at private residences. Sure, you can do so on the porch or patio. But sidewalks and streets are off the table. As for taking a couple of hits amid the city's neon splendor? Keep dreaming! Public use can result in a fine of $600.  Where Can You Smoke Weed in Las Vegas?  As one of the 42 million tourists that visit "Sin City" each year, you've got a couple of options.  First, you can smoke recreationally with someone who lives in Vegas. Since the city boasts 644,644 residents, the odds are decent that you can make this happen. Especially if you plan ahead.  What if you can't find a friend of a friend who lives in Vegas to let you get high at their home? She taught an entire generation of Americans about manners, from table settings to formal attire. So, it only makes sense that her great-great-granddaughter has written the book on ganja etiquette. Seriously. We couldn't make this stuff up.  The 36-year-old co-president of the Emily Post Institute, Lizzie Post, rolls joints with artistic flair and has authored a book on the subject, Higher Etiquette. From dealing with pre-rolls at parties to politely introducing bud to your guests, she's got an answer.  Post also delves into the myriad ways cannabis can be consumed today, from drinkable cannabis to cannabis cooking parties and even ganja-friendly high teas. What are her basic rules when it comes to weed etiquette? First and foremost, share whatever you've got. In other words, if you light up or pull out a brownie, pass it around. Second, never hold onto something that's burning or otherwise getting wasted. Third, never assume a pre-roll is finished until you've asked everyone if they'd like another go. You might assume that quarter-inch filter is gone, but throwing it away could mean a cardinal sin to somebody else.  Other Things to Keep in Mind Post also points out that the way we talk about cannabis can be offensive to some. For example, the word "marijuana" was used negatively in the early 1900s to associate it with the Latino community. As a result, the word still feels offensive and painful to some individuals and communities. Post prefers using the term "cannabis" during public speaking engagements. She also explains it's essential to keep in mind how cannabis products affect others and you. For example, if you've got a slow metabolism, it could take three to four hours before you experience a high from edibles. You should let your host know this in advance. It's also important to consider how you use cannabis in the context of the people you're with. For example, if you're around individuals who don't appreciate smoke, then edibles prove the natural and mannerly alternative.  Or, as Lizzie puts it, "You don't pop down with your joint on the beach three feet away from the family having a picnic." Good luck finding beaches in Vegas, but the sentiment still holds. Be discerning and respectful when it comes to where and when you light up. It's not only good for you but also the public perception of the entire weed-smoking community.  Where to Smoke Weed in Las Vegas Despite the legalization of recreational pot use, you should avoid public areas when getting high. The 2010s were a revolutionary decade in the cannabis world, with 11 states legalizing the recreational use of marijuana. In these states, many law-abiding citizens are contemplating doing something they've never done before: smoking cannabis. Are you thinking about smoking cannabis for the first time? Are you wandering around the internet looking for cannabis smoking tips? You've come to the right place, my friend. Let's take a look at what you need to know if you're smoking for the first time. Cannabis Smoking Tips For Beginners Follow these eight tips and you'll be sure to have a good high. Do yourself a favor and make it extra special. It's only your first time once! 1. Clear Your Schedule Your first time smoking cannabis is a special experience and not something you want to combine with going to class, an important business meeting, or a bunch of chores. Find a time in your schedule when you've got absolutely nothing going on. This is not something to squeeze in before your next appointment. Smoking for the first time is a special event, and you should treat it that way. 2. Go Into it With the Right Mindset While cannabis has a reputation for making people chill-out. It won't necessarily magically take your worries away if you go into the experience with a laundry list of anxieties, particularly if it's your first time. Smoking cannabis for the first time should be an enjoyable and relaxing experience, but going into it with a negative mindset could make it anxiety-inducing and stressful for you. So before you embark on your first cannabis-smoking journey, make sure you're already in a calm, pleasant headspace. This will ensure that you don't start heading down the wrong mental path when you start to feel cannabis' effects. 3. Deliberately Choose Your Environment Paired with going into your first utterances smoking experience within the right mental environment, it's also important to do so in the right physical environment. Together, these two concepts are known by some as set and setting, and it can be a good thing to remember on your first time or your three hundredth time. Your environment can consist of where you are, who you're with, what the lighting is like and what music you have on. Maybe you feel most comfortable in your apartment, and you want to invite some friends over to listen to music and paint portraits of each other. Or maybe you feel most comfortable outside, and you'd rather walk around the forest trail near your house and commune with nature. There are tons of different options and your most desired setting will depend on who you are and what you like. Just remember that if you're in a place that's sketching you out and you're considering smoking weed for the first time, you probably shouldn't. If an environment is giving you the heeby-jeebys before you're high, chances are it'll definitely weird you out once you are. 4. Smoke With People You Know and Trust One of the awesome things about smoking cannabis is that you start to notice things you've never noticed before. The beauty of a bird or the absurdity of a TV show can all of a sudden become extremely apparent, even though you've seen that type of bird or that TV show a hundred times before without thinking anything of it. This type of effect is also very noticeable about people. This is why it's important to be deliberate about who's around you. It's not a great idea to be around a bunch of people you don't know, or even people you do know but you've always kind of thought were sketchy. Close friends and loved ones who you know and trust are great companions on your first cannabis-smoking journey, particularly if they've smoked it before and know what to expect. They'll be there to support you and to tell you how to smoke a pre-roll for the first time. 5. Take it Slow No one's going to give you any prizes for getting obliterated on your first time smoking cannabis. Since you've never done this before, you have absolutely no tolerance. The feeling of being high can take a little while to settle in, so don't over-indulge. Take it one hit at a time, and give yourself plenty of time between hits. 6. Stay Hydrated If you ask any experienced cannabis smoker to explain how to smoke cannabis for beginners, they'll likely say something along the lines of: Drink water before smoking. Drink water during smoking. Drink water after smoking. Trust me. Drink water! 7. Have Snacks on Hand When we say snacks, we’re not saying this lightly. We’re not talking about having some protein bars and one of those little bags of potato chips you get with your sandwich at a sub shop. You will want to have a plethora of snacks on hand. This isn't a time to be worried about counting calories, because trust us, when you're in the middle of the munchies whatever obscure weight-loss diet you're on will be the last thing on your mind. Think of the foods you love the most, and stock up. You can order delivery, but I wouldn't recommend getting into this as a habit. It's awesome that you can have hot, fresh food delivered to your door, but it gets a bit pricey when you decide you absolutely have to have just about everything on the menu. 8. Be Safe This should go without saying, but if you're smoking cannabis for the first time (or for the gazillionth time) you shouldn't ever get in a car and drive. Since it's your first time, you don't know how it's going to feel smoking cannabis. Don't put yourself in a situation where you get high for the first time on top of a tall fire escape or in the back of a seedy club. Do yourself a favor and take some extra precautions on your first cannabis voyage. If it's a part of the plan to go somewhere, make sure you have a reliable designated driver signed on. It's a no-go if everyone you're with is stoned and all of a sudden a plan is hatched to drive to the ocean, no matter how experienced the person claims to be. If you think you'd like to head to a specific hiking trail or whatever, make sure you have a ride figured out ahead of time. Or, of course, there's always Uber. Bon Voyage! Now that you've got these cannabis smoking tips up your sleeve, you're all set to embark on your maiden voyage! Did you love this article on smoking cannabis for beginners? In America, cannabis for medical or recreational use is legal to buy in 11 states, now including Illinois. In a total of 33 states, it's legal to use cannabis for medical use.  Researchers continue to conduct studies on the effects of cannabis on both our health and our economy. As the data rolls in, the benefits of cannabis become apparent. Do you want to learn more about the positive effects of legalizing cannabis? If so, keep reading to discover what the potential benefits of legal cannabis are on our health and economy. 1. Medical Marijuana May Help With Chronic Pain In 2016, over 20 percent of American adults reported they had chronic pain. According to that same CDC report, chronic pain is one of the main reasons that people seek medical care. Chronic pain can limit a person's mobility and ability to perform daily tasks. Many people dealing with chronic pain say that it affects their life at home and at work. According to a recent study on why people use medical marijuana, over 62 percent said they used it to treat chronic pain. In states where it's illegal to use medical marijuana, many people struggle to find relief for their enduring pain. 2. It Might Help Reduce Addictions and Opioid Deaths Some people use prescription painkillers to find pain relief, but the problem with opioids is that they're addictive. They work by reducing the perception of pain in the brain and producing a euphoric effect. Some people build up a tolerance to these drugs and need to take more to achieve the same effects. This can lead to addiction and potentially overdosing. In the United States, experts agree that we're in the middle of an opioid epidemic. It's so bad that over 10 million Americans over the age of 12 misused opioids in 2018 alone. But researchers are now examining the links between states that have legalized cannabis and a decrease in opioid deaths. Cannabis is also arguably less dangerous than other substances like alcohol. Over 15 million adults in the United States had an alcohol use disorder. That's an estimated 6.2 percent of people. 3. CBD Helps Epilepsy Patients The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently approved the use of a medication called Epidiolex. Epidiolex is a cannabidiol (CBD) solution meant to help reduce the frequency of seizures in patients with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome or Dravet syndrome. Evidence from clinical studies and reports suggest that CBD may help reduce the severity or frequency of seizures. 4. People With Anxiety, Depression, or Stress Can Find Relief According to this Science Direct study, participants reported an 89.3 percent reduction in their depression symptom ratings. According to that same data, anxiety rates went down in 93.5 percent of tracked sessions. The two major components of cannabis, CBD and THC, can affect your mood. Take a look at any dispensary menu and you'll see certain strains meant to help you relax. Both CBD and THC interact with the system in our brains responsible for regulating our moods. That's why certain strains can have a relaxing effect, which may help with feelings of stress or anxiety. Some people say this feeling of relaxation is one of the best reasons to smoke cannabis. 5. It Helps Cancer Patients People undergoing chemotherapy treatment often suffer from nausea and pain but one of the benefits of cannabis is its ability to ease these symptoms. According to the American Cancer Society, smoking cannabis may help with side effects of cancer chemotherapy, mainly nausea and vomiting. Legalizing cannabis could make it easier for these patients to get access to medical marijuana. 6. Legal Cannabis Contributes to the Economy Legalizing cannabis contributes to the economy by increasing tax revenue. In Nevada alone, the cannabis industry has contributed over $100 million in tax revenue from the last fiscal year. And according to a report by Arcview Market Research and BDS Analytics, global sales from legal cannabis are expected to surpass $40 billion by the year 2024. 7. Legalizing Cannabis Creates More Jobs According to New Frontier Data, the number of jobs in the legal cannabis market could surge to 743,000 by 2025. And if cannabis is ever approved on the federal level, the number of jobs could rise even higher. There are a variety of jobs in the cannabis industry suitable for people with different skills. From running cultivation to working as a budtender, there are many different job opportunities linked to legal cannabis. 8. There Would Be More Investment Opportunities According to The Motley Fool, acquisition is one of the best ways to grow in the cannabis industry. But right now, it's difficult for investors to support the industry because cannabis is still illegal on the federal level. That makes investing in the industry costly. Legalizing cannabis would allow investors with acquired companies to ship their products across state lines. This would make it easier and cheaper for companies to expand because they wouldn't need to set up operations in different states. Right now, it seems like federal legalization is a long way off. The more states that legalize cannabis, the more likely investors are to consider supporting the cannabis industry. 9. It Boosts Tourism in States Where Cannabis Is Legal One of many pros is that it attracts people that want to try legal cannabis for the first time. Many of these people travel to states where it's legal to do so. Because of this, states that have legalized cannabis have significantly boosted their tourism rates. Cannabis tourism is sweeping the nation and many entrepreneurs are taking advantage of the opportunities presented. 10. Legalizing Cannabis Helps the Real Estate Market Not only does legalizing cannabis boost tourism, but it also helps the real estate market as well. Home prices often go up in areas where cannabis has been legalized, which is good news for the real estate market in that area. According to a study from Clever Real Estate, residential property values in Denver have gone up since retail dispensaries opened. Almost 68 percent, to be exact. The Positive Effects of Legalizing Cannabis Mean a Bright Future for the Cannabis Industry These are only a few of the many positive effects of legalizing cannabis in the United States. As researchers continue to discover potential cannabis health benefits and the cannabis industry brings in millions in tax revenue, more people are considering the industry's potential. If 2019 taught us anything, it's that the marijuana business is growing along with its variety of top marijuana strains. Illinois became the eleventh state in the U.S. to legalize cannabis for recreational purposes in January. Many other states changed laws concerning marijuana and the workplace, making developments that erred on the side of leniency and acceptance. And a handful of others—Florida, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and several more—are geared towards legalization in 2020. With these developments come new varietals as technology grows and stigmas lessen. Cultivators are crossing bud types left and right, producing fantastic new strains that harness some new favorites. So, if you happen to hit up a dispensary this year, here are a few new and classic stand-out strains to keep an eye out for! Hybrids Hybrids are arguably some of the most popular varietals out there, as they're handcrafted by growers to produce unique flavors and effects. This can be anything from reducing anxiety to easing adverse symptoms of chemotherapy.  Hybrids are a combination of Indica and Sativa—the THC content and levels of Indica vs. Sativa vary from strain to strain. Your Thrive budtender will be happy to explain what the expected effects are. Here are some great hybrids to look out for in 2020. Sour Banana Sherbert The Green & Gold Sour Banana Sherbert strain is a sweet bud that produces equal feelings of relaxation and euphoria or creativity. This strain sits at about 27% THC, making this a heavy hitter. The hybrid strain is a cross between sour diesel and banana sherbert, which creates a unique aroma, flavor, and feeling. Animal Cookies This hybrid strain is a cross between GSC x Fire OG, producing a pleasant, body-melting head high that helps alleviate depression, headaches, and body pain. This strain is about 23% THC with 0.04% CBD. Dream Queen Here we have a 19.8% THC level. Dream Queen by Matrix is a combination of Blue Dream and Space Queen. If you like a musky, fruity, and earthy bud—this strain's for you. Feel like your flying among the stars with its euphoric and spacey cerebral effect.  Indicas Indica strains produce those feel-good, cozy effects. This makes Indica buds intensely relaxing, helping to increase appetite while lowering pain levels or feelings of nausea. The following are some stand-out Indicas of 2020. Irene This beautiful purple bud is very soothing and sits at a THC level of almost 23%. Expect your classic physical and mental relaxation with this strain. It also has the added benefit of being an excellent mood enhancer. Banana OG This 24% THC strain is an indicant-dominant hybrid of OG Kush x Banana. This "creeper" (meaning, the effects set in a while after the first hit) deserves its name, as its aroma resembles yummy over-ripe bananas. Careful of overdoing it, as its effects will sneak up on you—leaving you every bit as comatose as one might expect from a potent Indica. Try this if you are looking for pain relief, appetite stimulation, or a night of restful sleep. Black Mamba The strain sits at about 23.62% THC and 0.03% CBD. Its flavor can be described as fruity, skunky, and sweet—a yummy cross of classic Indica flavors. Try it in the nighttime, as its effects are relaxing and sleepy while offering pain relief and euphoria. Sativas Sativas often, but not always, have higher levels of THC with lower levels of CBD. This potent mix produces a "mind high" that's uppity, exciting, and energizing. A Sativa's effect helps you feel creative and productive instead of overly relaxed. That's why Sativas are an excellent daytime option, as they stave off lethargic feelings while promoting an upbeat high. Here are some 2020 go-to's. Mimosa This higher-level THC strain sits at about 23% THC with 0.04% CBD. It's a beautiful high, offering feelings of alertness, energy, and euphoria. This makes it a perfect daytime strain, as any great Sativa should be. Mimosa has won many Cannabis Cups, making it a significant player into 2020 as well. This trending Sativa is a cross of Clementine x Purple Punch—which makes its flavor an exciting mix of Hawaiian Punch with citrus.  If you want to stay clear-headed and focused, this strain's for you. Expect pleasant anxiety relief, too. Snow Dawg This strain's THC level sits a little lower, at about 20.23%. It's also its own complex mix of strains. The formula comes down to (Chem Sister x Sagarmatha’s Bubbleberry) x (Mass. Super Skunk x Oregon Sno). Try and keep that straight! However, the name Snow Dawg or G6 is good enough for your local budtenders, who will hook you up with this excellent strain from the notorious Chemdawg family.  It's both fruity and citrusy, and most people choose it for its relief of stress and tension. It's also a great daytime strain, reducing social anxieties, work pressures, or life stressors. Candyland Don't let the name fool you—this strain is more hard-hitting than one might think! Candyland is a Sativa with about 22% THC. Its flavors are classic Sativa—sweet and citrusy—with just the effects you might hope for: daytime alertness, feel-good happiness, and a burst of energy. It's a potent, California-bred strain that mixes Granddaddy Purple x Bay Area Platinum Cookies. If you love the taste of pink lemonade, you'll love the taste of this bud.  Try it out if you're looking for a creative, social strain that doesn't keep you glued to the couch. What to Know About Weed Laws in Las Vegas While Nevada may be a recreational state, that doesn't mean that there are not laws in place for the usage of marijuana. In the state of Nevada, you must be at least 21 years old to enjoy marijuana recreationally. There is also a limit on the amount of marijuana you may possess. Around the world, as many as 200 million people (give or take a few hundred thousand) report using cannabis. Is one of those people part of your life? Pot lovers are fun to hang out with for lots of reasons. But another bonus of having a stoner in your life is that they're easy to shop for. As marijuana becomes legal in more and more places, there are more weed gift ideas to choose from than ever before. Wondering which cannabis gifts to buy for your favorite stoner? We've put together some of our favorites here - check them out below! CBD Bath Products While weed gets you high, it also does much more. Some people love cannabis for the CBD as much as for the THC. CBD is the compound in weed that helps with everything from pain to depression. And it also works when applied topically, making it a great gift for anyone who needs relaxation and pain relief sometimes. You can find bath bombs, lotions, and other bath products containing CBD. They're great for athletes or anyone who has sore muscles from time to time. But they can also make a relaxing, thoughtful gift for just about anyone. Weed Soda Weed soda and similar delicious beverages offer a tasty new way to get high. These drinks are made using high-quality concentrate, blended into a drink that gives you a buzz, unlike anything alcohol can provide. Just make sure the recipient knows they can be potent -- you shouldn't drink more than one dose at a time. Lounge Clothes When it comes to weed gifts, they don't always have to have weed in them. Sometimes, the best gifts are the ones your favorite stoner will love to use when they're high. Lounge clothes, slippers, and other comfy accessories are a great choice. Not all stoners are homebodies, but most of them love the feeling of chilling at home with a nice high from time to time. Consider gifting a plush bathrobe, cozy slippers, or even an ultra-soft blanket. Getting high at home doesn't have to involve ratty old sweats anymore! Cool Ashtray Ashtrays haven't been thought of as trendy items for many years. While they were once beautiful, even collectible, the campaign against cigarettes made them fall out of favor. However, stoners need ashtrays too, and the ashtray market is growing alongside the cannabis market. You can buy high-tech new ashtrays made out of modern materials like silicone. Or, you could pick up a cool vintage ashtray from a thrift store for an even more unique gift.  A Card Giving a card instead of a gift might seem cheap and boring. But what if that card had a preroll in it? That's right -- they make cards just for stoners now, with space to put prerolled joints or blunts inside. If you know someone's favorite strain (or found a new one you think they're love) try one of these thoughtful cards.  Stash Box This one seems too easy. But if you know a stoner that could benefit from a little more organization, a stash box might be just the things for them. You can find all kinds of cool designs. The box can reference weed directly, or it can have any other style you choose. Just make sure it's easy to secure so what's inside won't spill if it gets knocked over. Grinder A high-quality grinder can make a world of difference in a smoker's experience. This is a simple gift that's great for someone who's new to the world of cannabis. Look for a quality design made of quality material, like metal. Edible Candy The whole "stoners love to eat" thing isn't just a myth -- science has shown that weed helps spark the appetite.  However, you can give your stoner friends gifts a little more elevated than the bulk candy from the grocery store. Try gifting some edibles instead. You can pick edibles infused with THC, or just CBD if you think that's more their style. From fancy truffles to simple gummies, there's no shortage of weed-infused candy to choose from our Las Vegas Dispensary. Skincare Products The beauty industry is always looking for the latest and greatest ingredient. These days, cannabis is having its moment in the skincare world. Look for cannabis-infused moisturizers, serums, and much more. Although some products work better than others depending on skin type, they'll all make a great gift for a beauty lover who's into trying new things. Rolling Tray A trendy, subtle rolling tray is a great gift for the stoner who loves a nicely decorated coffee table with their smoking materials. Rolling trays can do double duty as a place to hold small, easy-to-lose items, like keys or jewelry. Pick one that looks nice, even when it's not in use.  The Perfect Experience If you have a stoner friend who loves to go out and do things, why not give them an experience they'll always remember? You can do something specifically aimed at stoners, like a "puff and paint night." Or you can go more traditional with concert tickets, a trip to an amazing national park, or anything else you can think of. Just make sure that if you'll both be getting high, neither of you is driving.  Ready to Try These Weed Gift Ideas? We've scratched the surface of weed gift ideas here, but the truth is, there are many more where that came from. Most of the things on this list are easy to get if you live in a state with legal weed.  However, you can still find gifts that are legal in all 50 states. Pick-up your cannabis gift needs at one of our four Thrive locations.

Weed is going to be legal around the US within a year. Well, that’s if you listen to the pundits and look at the industry. For instance, Canopy Growth just bid $3.4 billion for Acreage Holding. That’s a Canadian cannabis industry giant making a deal with a New York-based competitor, respectively, on the basis of federal law changing. The respective CEOs are betting that it happens within a year! Clearly, it’s an exciting time for pot smokers around the country. Newfound freedom always calls for an era of experimentation. Novel ways of cannabis consumption are called for. Food-infused concoctions are on today’s menu. Are you a budding weed smoker looking to experiment with cannabis cookery? Want to add to your cannabis cookbook? Keep reading for some great weed recipes to do just that. 4 Awesome Weed Recipes to Enhance Your Cannabis Cookbook Edibles combine your love of cooking with your love of weed. Here are some foundational recipes to begin your cannabis cooking journey. 1. Canna-Oil Canna-oil is often a basis for your weed cooking. Infused with marijuana, you can use the oil as you wish to enhance your food with a nice high! Remember, canola oil and vegetable oils are better for sweet stuff; olive oils work well with savory. Here’s how to make it: Ingredients: Good quality marijuana – approx. 5 grams Oil of choice – 2 cups Guide: The first step is to decarboxylate your marijuana. Spread it out on a baking sheet in one even layer. Next, put the sheet in a preheated oven at 220 degrees Fahrenheit for around 30-45 minutes. Keep an eye on it though. Don’t let it burn!   With the weed successfully decarboxylated you want to store it away for a couple of months. Yes, months! Put it in a container so air can’t get to it, and place it somewhere cool, dark and dry. Let’s assume you’ve waited two months, or already have 5 grams of decarbed weed lying around. It’s time to heat your oil of choice in a saucepan. Don’t get it too hot. Medium-low is probably best. Add the weed and cook for around 40 to 45 minutes. Again, don’t let it get too hot (too hot would be over 200 degrees Fahrenheit). With that done, remove from the heat. Allow the lovely weed-oil combo to stand and cool for 10-15 minutes. Finally, use a sieve to strain out the oil, using a spoon or some other implement to press through as much oil as possible. And voila! A fresh batch of potent canna-oil. Pro Tip: Prefer butter to oil? Use exactly the same process to make canna-butter. Just swap out the oil with butter…obviously. Use it in your cooking and baking as required. 2. Canna-Tea This one’s self-explanatory. Want a brew? Want to get high? Want to kill two birds with one stone? Canna-tea is what you need. Ingredients: Tea of choice Cannabis tincture Milk, honey, sugar Guide: You could probably figure this one out for yourself. But in the interest of consistency, here’s the quickest how-to going. Boil your water and make your tea. Then add a dose of your cannabis tincture (whichever one you prefer). Finally, sweeten with honey and/or sugar, and add milk (if that’s your preference). 3. Canna-Mac-n-Cheese Who doesn’t love mac-n-cheese? It’s the ultimate in hearty, feel-good, binge food. It’s time the traditional recipe was brought into the 21st 420 century. Ingredients (serves 5…depending on your munchies): 0.5lb macaroni 1 tablespoon of canola oil Seasoning (salt/pepper) Cannabutter (5 tablespoons) 0.5 cups flour 3 cups warm milk 12 oz cheese of choice Spices (smoked paprika, nutmeg) Guide: Cook your macaroni as normal, then drain and set it aside. With the mac sorted, it’s time for the cheese. Melt your cannabutter in a saucepan and add your flour. Be sure to keep stirring every so often until smooth. When it’s combined, add your warm milk and cook until the sauce is thick enough. Now it’s actual cheese time. Put your cheese into the sauce along with the seasoning and spices. Stir it all in and add your macaroni. Place into ramekins or small dishes of choice. Pro tip: Trying to impress a mate? Want to make it fancier? Add a breadcrumb, canna-oil and cheddar cheese mix to the top of the mac n cheese. Finally, bake in a preheated oven (375 degrees Fahrenheit) for half an hour. 4. Canna Mug Cake  Weed brownies are old news. Enter the chocolate mug cake. Oh, and it only takes 5 minutes to make. That’s good news for any impatient aspiring stoners out there. Ingredients: Softened canna-butter (As required) Cocoa powder (2 tablespoons) Flour (4 tablespoons) Sugar (4 teaspoons) Chocolate chips (lots) 1 egg Guide: Find a mug that’s safe for the microwave. Oh, and find a microwave. Next, put everything into your mug. Yep, all at once. Mix it all up until well combined. At this point, you can add anything else you might want to make it yours. Blueberries, nuts, and/or marshmallows come to mind. Finally, cook in the microwave for around 2 minutes or until the center is done. Time to Get Cooking There you have it! Four awesome weed recipes to get you started with your cannabis cooking skills. As the promise of legalized weed grows, so do the possibilities for alternative forms of consumption! There’s no more hiding in the shadows. You can do as you please with ease. Cooking with marijuana is one fun way to make the most of this new found freedom. Cannabis tourism has increased by 51% in the last five years in Colorado alone. If you’re looking to enjoy the best cannabis tourism has to offer it’s important to know the best things to do when high in that state ahead of time.  Read on for more information on what to do while high in Las Vegas. Enjoying Cannabis in a Recreational State In over half the country the use of cannabis has been legalized. In most of the states, cannabis can only be used for medicinal purposes. However, there is a new rise in recreational states in which cannabis can be enjoyed simply for fun. The states include Nevada, Oregon, Colorado, and California to name a few. However, it's important to remember, that simply because the state allows the recreational use of cannabis it does not mean that there are no laws that pertain to the state. Nevada State Laws for Enjoying Cannabis While it's true that the recreational laws are fairly open, there are still some important rules and regulations to be aware of before doing cannabis in Las Vegas. For example, you must be at least 21 years of age to enjoy cannabis. You should know that there are also stark consequences for indulging in cannabis in public. Best Things to Do When High in Las Vegas  Sin City can easily become a stoner city in this cannabis tourism hub. There are no ends to the number of attractions that you can enjoy while high, however, here are some helpful suggestions to get started. Keep it Poolside With the Las Vegas heat, you'll find a number of poolside day clubs that are perfect for lounging or partying. This is an ideal option if you choose a strain of cannabis that makes you want to spend the day relaxing. Some strains have a roller coaster effect of high-energy highs that become low energy stalls. Which is why a day club brings you the best of both worlds. Spa Time Sometimes a good high makes you feel like indulging in something decadent. A deep tissue massage in one of Vegas' notorious spas is an ideal way to do just that. You'll find that the gorgeous spa atmosphere can make your already tranquil state even more tranquil. Some spas even offer day passes that allow you to spend time in their whirlpools or saunas. It's suggested that you know what kind of high you experience before spending time in such a quiet atmosphere.  All You Can Eat Buffet Aside from gambling if there's one thing that Vegas is known for is an incredibly full and endless variety of buffets. Which is why if you're experiencing an intense case of the munchies, this is the spot. For the price of one entry fee, you can eat to your heart's desire. From fried foods to multitier dessert tables, you may find yourself spending hours in this delicious food heaven.  Check Out a Show Las Vegas is filled with quality entertainment from some of the best performers in the world. However, if you're enjoying a particularly good high, we suggest a show with as much vibrancy and creativity as possible. For example, you may find that your high is the perfect match for the odd yet hilarious antics of the Blue Man Group. Are you a music lover? Check out the Beatles Cirque du Soleil Love Show or the Michael Jackson Rendition. It's important to keep in mind that if you visit the shows later in life when you're not high, they may not be as impressive as you remember. Gamble... or Not For this section, it's very important to know what kind of high you're really experiencing. Is your high one that allows you to be more perceptive, enhancing your ability to pick up on subtle cues? If so you may find that your luck at gambling will steadily improve. However, if getting stoned makes you more reckless, and open to greater risk you may want to stay away from the gambling tables. The last thing you want is to blow all of your money because you were too stoned to know about that. Finally, Stay in Bed It may sound strange to want to spend part of your vacation in bed, however, if you're in one of the true luxury resorts in Las Vegas you are likely to enjoy some of the most comfortable beddings and thread counts that you ever come across. Now match that comfort with great room service and pay-per-view TV, and you have one of the best experiences you can ask for while being high.  Visit Another Dispensary Part of the beauty of a recreational state is that no two dispensaries are alike. You will find each dispensary carries a variety of products for you to try, some of which you may have never even heard of. Have a look at our downtown dispensary for a mixture of treats or a marijuana dispensary in North Las Vegas. This is a time for a dispensary talk with your budtender, and always be open to suggestions. You may find your next high is right around the corner.  The Best Cannabis News and Tips on the Web To be a real stoner, it's best to be like a Boy Scout, always prepared to do the best things to do when high. That means staying on top of any news, tips, and changing laws that can help you enhance your cannabis experience. For more information on cannabis news visit our blog today. What's the weirdest thing you've ever made when you were high? We're pretty sure that's how people come up with delicacies like "hot Cheeto mac and cheese". But if you're visiting Las Vegas and you're in a hotel room, you don't have the fixings for a weird munchies meal. That's okay though, since Ubers, food delivery, and walking are all an option. Here are seven places that you can get some late night, snacks without the high price tag or the judgment. Just don't drive under the influence - find another way to get there. Munchies in Las Vegas Don't open up that minibar! Those snacks will only semi-satisfy you and they'll cost a fortune. Instead, visit ... In-N-Out If you live in the Mid-West, the South, or the East, we're sorry for you. Only in that, you don't have any In-N-Outs there. If you don't know, it's a famous West-coast burger chain and they make some of the best burgers out there. Usually, a fast-food burger place wouldn't make it onto a gastro guide, but In-N-Out is the exception. Learn their secret menu to order like a local. Don't forget to get a milkshake and some of their delicious fries. Take a paper hat for some selfies, too - it's a tradition! A.Y.C.E Buffet What's better than a buffet when you have the munchies? Plus, it means you don't have to make hard decisions, you can get a little bit of everything. And it being ready to go keeps you from forgetting that you ordered something and getting scared when someone knocks on the door (or comes to your table). This isn't your Golden Corral alternative, though. You can get everything from cauliflower (for those keto people) to well-prepared salmon. Is it cheap? No - but nothing in Vegas really is. There's a discount if you have a Palm's Player card though, so hit that up. Sprinkles Cupcake ATM If you're staying near Cesar's Palace, you'll find the Sprinkles cupcake ATM across the street. Just find their location on the strip and then you'll see the ATM on the sidewall of their store. It's open 24/7, with all the cupcakes served throughout the night made the previous day. You can get a range of flavors, which at that point, is whatever they had leftover. It's a cool concept and it's fun to do, who doesn't want to get their food out of an ATM? If the baker was feeling energetic that day, you may even find some cookies to choose from too. Sprinkles cupcakes are famous around the world, so feel free to set your expectations high. New York, New York American Restaurant Not open all night, but open late is this restaurant in the New York, New York resort. It has all the bar foods and home comforts you can think of, like chicken wings and french toast. It's not overly expensive, at least for something on the strip, and the staff is good-natured. You won't be the first stoned people there and you won't be the last. If you're staying on that end of the strip, go ahead and give it ago. Just check that they're open first. Food Trucks Now, if you're on or just off the strip, you can expect to find a food truck in your close vicinity. Here are a few to keep your eye out for. Sticky Iggy's This one just sounds stoner-friendly, doesn't it? You can check their website to find their up-to-date daily location. As far as food goes, you get a twist on southern classics here. Like chicken and waffles, except the chicken is put into a freshly made waffle cone. Don't expect to go walking the strip after eating here though. You'll a need food and weed induced power nap. Strip Chezze No, we didn't spell that wrong. The bright yellow and black truck is really named "StripChezze". You say it like "strip cheese". Anyways, if you're looking for a creative way to block your arteries, this is definitely it. You can get what they call "Daddy's on a roll" which is two deep-fried egg rolls filled with mac and cheese. It comes with a spicy kimchi sauce on the side. No, we couldn't have made that up if we tried. Their website is always up to date with their location and if you're having an event, they do private catering. Honorable Mentions If none of those excite you or aren't close enough, here are some other places to stick in your phone's GPS. Dirt Dog Phat Snacks Popcornopolis JoJo's Jerky New York Pretzel Now, with the restaurants, food trucks, and honorable mentions above, you should have no reason to buy those stale, expensive minibar snacks. You're better than that - and you deserve more. If you need advice as to where to get your greens before you spend your green on these tasty snacks, here are the directions to our store. Munchies for Days What on this list sounds the best to you? Remember, you can always take an Uber somewhere instead of driving. You'd be surprised how many places are open all night if you want to just find a place along the strip. But make it a point to go to one of the munchies favorites on this list and visit us at either our Cannabis dispensary in North Las Vegas or our Downtown dispensary. It's the least you can do for your high and your tongue. Airbnbs represent a simple, affordable solution, especially when it comes to edibles. You should check with the owner before partaking in any activities involving smoke and potential odors.  Second, you can go for discreet consumption in the form of vape pens and edibles. Public cannabis use remains strictly prohibited. As the industry continues to grow and more favorable legislation gets passed, the dilemma of where to consume cannabis will get easier for visitors. Dozens of cannabis-friendly cafes, lounges, and dispensary crawls are in the works. Etiquette for Smoking Weed in Vegas Ever heard of Emily Post? Otherwise, you could be staring down a $600 fine. Where can you smoke weed in Las Vegas? It will help you to slow your breathing and breathe deeply, which is an essential part of the Kama Sutra and Taoist sexual practices.  If you are trying to have high-vibration, meditative sex that is filled with wonder and manifestations, OG Kush is an excellent strain to use.  3. Grandaddy Purp This complex Indica blend takes you out of your head and puts you into your body.  When you can do this, you can feel the sensations more and will be able to relieve the tension of the day as you start to get into foreplay. Sour Diesel This world-famous, potent, pungent strain is great for sex.  With Sour D, you get the benefits of an Indica with the light euphoria of a Sativa. With this particular strain, you will experience a happiness that allows for movement and expression.  It gives you energy and creativity, rather than simply succumbing to couch lock.  5. Northern Lights Northern Lights is yet another incredible Indica strain that lets you stay into the moment and focus on sexy thoughts and feelings.  It gets you out of your head, and won't paralyze you with the anxiety and neuroticism that comes with other strains. You will be able to rest and relax into the moment, which is useful no matter what kind of sex you want to have.  6. Wedding Cookies When you smoke wedding cookies by Pistola, it can help you take your sex to the next level.  This strain is known to make you relaxed and happy -- two things that are crucial for good sex. It gives you intense euphoria and enthusiasm.  You will find that Wedding Cookies is an incredibly potent strain of cannabis, but not one that will overwhelm you.  This happiness and euphoria are great when you want intense, heartfelt lovemaking where high levels of emotion are present. Jillybean With Jillybean, you're getting one of the happiest hybrids that you'll find.  It will give you a chance to feel upliftment that will carry over into the bedroom. This is a great strain when you are feeling rather frisky and kinky since the energy is very playful and spontaneous.  8. Strawberry Cough This is one of the happiest and more euphoric Sativa around. When you are planning for some high-intensity, good old-fashioned sex, you can't go wrong with this one.  It soothes your anxiety away so that you don't feel self-conscious so that you feel comfortable being completely naked and in the moment.  9. What is a Recreational State Over the years marijuana has seen a massive upturn as states throughout the country have legalized its use. While most of the states only allow medicinal marijuana use, some states are opening up to the recreational use of the plant. Fortunately, Nevada is one such state. Those looking to enjoy marijuana may hold up to 1 ounce of marijuana flower or 3.5 g of concentrated marijuana. It's also important to note that there are regulations as to where the public ingestion of cannabis can take place. For enjoying marijuana in a public place you can be hit with $1000 maximum fine and even jail time. This is a stark difference from the minor hundred dollar infraction you would receive in California. You are also unable to drive or ride in a vehicle while in enjoying or holding an open container of cannabis. It’s important to do the research beforehand to know exactly where you can and cannot partake to avoid running into any trouble. Purchasing Products Finally, you want to purchase your products and whatever you may need to enjoy those products. For example, you may need to purchase a pipe, a vaporizer, or paper for rolling. If you're unsure about a specific method to enjoy your cannabis, simply ask your budtender if they can recommend one. Sometimes you’ll be lucky enough to find a budtender that will crush the flower or roll your weed for you ahead of time making it easier for you to enjoy on your trip.
